What’s Local To Etive House Care Home?

When it comes to Benderloch, it’s important to note that there are plenty of areas just waiting to be explored, whether that’s by our residents or their friends and family members. Although the area of Benderloch consists of a variety of smaller towns and villages, the town of Oban is the one that sits closest to Etive House Care Home. Benderloch, in fact, is only a small settlement and it is along the main road which connects plenty of areas with one another. For example, there is Connel to the north, Loch Creran to the northeast and Etive to the southwest. What sets our location of Benderloch apart from everywhere else in the world, however, is the incredible access and view of Barcaldine Castle. 

This castle is certainly not to be missed, as it was once an early 17th-century tower house. If you’re looking to move into Etive House Care Home in Benderloch and you just so happen to be a big fan of history, you’re guaranteed to not be disappointed. Also in the Benderloch area, if you were to travel in a slightly more northerly direction, you would find the Ardchattan Priory Garden situated right in the northern area of Loch Etive.

How To Find Us

Whether you are coming from a nearby train station or landmark, or even further afield, we are surprisingly easy to reach.

By Car:

Start from Tralee Beach. Head northeast on the main road leaving Tralee Beach. Take the route that connects to the main A roads directing towards Oban, usually following signs for Oban along the A85 or A828 roads depending on the exact starting point near Tralee Beach. Continue driving towards Oban, passing through scenic areas in Argyll and Bute. Once near Oban, follow local signage to Etive House Care Home, which is located in Benderloch, near Oban.

By Car:

From Barcaldine Castle, start by heading southeast on Barcaldine Road (B845). Drive towards the village of Benderloch, following the signs for Oban. Join the A828 main road heading south towards Oban. Continue on the A828 for about 7 miles (11 km). Look for signs for Etive House Care Home, which is located just off the A828 near the village of Benderloch, a short distance north of Oban. Turn off the A828 towards Etive House Care Home. Follow the driveway to the care home, which is set in a scenic location with views over Beinn Lora Hill and close to the west coast of Scotland.

By Car:

Exit Oban Train Station and head southeast on Station Road toward George Street. Turn left onto George Street (A816). Follow the A816 heading northeast out of Oban towards Benderloch. Continue on the A816 for approximately 7 miles (11 km). Look for signs or turn-offs to Etive House Care Home, which is located just off the A816 near the village of Benderloch, north of Oban. Turn off the A816 towards Etive House Care Home. Follow the driveway signs to the care home, which is set in a scenic location near the west coast of Scotland.
