One Lucky Resident’s Scenic Air Tour Around Argyle
Two years ago, the staff at Etive House Care Home hatched a plan for one lucky resident to have an air tour around Argyle. That plan this week finally came to fruition.
When planning the flight originally, it was meant to be for another resident who had previously expressed a keen interest in flying. Unfortunately, when the day came, the resident was unable to participate in the flight.
With everything booked and the charter ready to go, we didn't want the opportunity to go to waste. It just so happened that this particular day was one of our other residents' birthdays. We asked Frank whether he would like to go on the air tour, to which he happily agreed.
Frank has an adventurous spirit and although cars have always been his passion, he jumped at the chance to take part in the air tour. The trip came as a wonderful birthday surprise for Frank.
The tour was operated by Hebridean Air Services and lasted one hour, departing from Connel Airport. Frank and four other paying passengers boarded the flight and were delighted to see stunning views over Oban and the beautiful surrounding islands.
Upon returning from his flight, Frank stated "It was amazing up there, we went right over Mull'. Frank has been regaling all the staff and residents with tales about what he saw ever since he landed. We are extremely delighted that we made his 94th birthday one certainly to remember.
At Etive House Care Home in Oban, we go to great efforts to learn all about the interest and passions of our residents, as we aim to fill their days with enjoyable activities and events.
This was certainly a great activity that we hope to offer our residents again, especially our original resident who inspired the air tour to go ahead in the first place.
We would like to once again thank Hebridean Air Services for making this fantastic experience possible.
